​I'm Janelle!

I lucked out and married my best friend! We have had some wild adventures in our 16 years together but the most rewarding thing we've done so far is have our children! We try to live a Christ centered life and hope that our daughters will continue following the path to Jesus as they grow. We all love to be outside, in the mountains, or next to the water! If I'm not doing hair or teaching a dance fitness class, you can find me with the fam! 

I've always had a passion for hair and have been practicing something within the industry ever since I was a child! I went to Aveda-Minneapolis in January 2007. My first job out of school was at Accolades Salon & Spa (St. Paul, MN). While training at Accolades I split my shifts assisting the color specialist and product tested at INtelligent Nutrients with Horst Rechelbacher, the founder of Aveda (Minneapolis, MN). Quite the experience that I will cherish forever! I opened a Salon & Spa in Iowa from 2010-2015 where I did everything hair color/cut/extensions, to waxings, to pedi/mani's, to spray tans. After having children, I did hair from home. We moved to Colorado in 2018 and I went back to school to become a Certified Herbalist, while doing "mobile hair" on the side. I opened an herbal business, The Herbal Artisan, in 2021 (to present) when we moved to South Dakota. I got into Esthetics for a while and did organic facials too!

I received my Certification in Japanese Straightening Treatments, July 2024 followed by an extensive hands-on training in Denver, CO August 2024. A service that I personally get done and wish I would've discovered them sooner! I can't wait to bring Japanese Thermal's to the Sioux Falls area! Continuing my education is very important to me so that I am up to date on all of the things while getting to be in such a fun industry!

Hair is my number one passion and I am so excited to share it with you!  I absolutely love helping people feel and look good from the inside to out! Looking forward to having you in my chair!
